What follows are some of the best trading and investing books of all time – in my humble opinion.

• Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefevre.

First published in 1923, this book has stood the test of time. This book as more solid trading advice than many other books combined. Written well, and an easy enjoyable read, the book offers many insights. Written in a novel format the book allows you to really learn from the mistakes and triumphs of the characters. A must read for any trader.

• The Investors Quotient by Jake Bernstein

The most thorough book on market psychology that I have read. This book should be read by anyone who is involved in the markets. Even for those that are not active in the markets, the book delves into our common natures and is a fantastic journey into the psychological – why we do some of the things we do.

“The Room” by Ray Melnik has a simple title and the storyline itself is relatively simple, but the treatment of its underlying scientific and philosophical ideas are tremendously original; their effortless placement within an otherwise ordinary story reflects the natural magnificence of the book that Melnik, in the introduction, refuses to refer to as science fiction because “science is not fiction. It is a reality of the most all-encompassing kind.”

The novel’s narrator, Harry Ladd, is recently divorced from his wife. He now lives in a small apartment in the town center where he has easy access to stores, the local pub, and several kind-hearted people to keep him company. Harry becomes good friends with the local pub owner’s daughter, Lacey, and a romantic relationship develops between them, with Lacey being mature enough to understand that Harry is currently going through a difficult time because his mother is dying of cancer.…

My Appreciation of C.C. Wilcher’s Universal Laws of Healing, the Contrast Between Healers and Pretenders

In 2002 as I searched for answers in my alternative health care education I happened across an impressive book. A 387 page full size treasure trove of information rendered in 1999 by Dr. C.C. Wilcher titled: The Universal Laws of Healing, The Contrast Between Healers and Pretenders.

Dr. Wilcher, from Boise, Idaho practices acupuncture, chiropractic and naturopathy. He also teaches patho-physiology, philosophy, homeopathy, and the quantum physics of healing. Wilcher is familiar with many techniques of healing including African, Allopathic, Ayruvedic, Massage, Native American and Oceanic, Oriental, Psychology, Sufi, and Quantum Healing, all which he explains in the book.

Wilcher describes how every person is a spiritual (non corporal being), exhibiting an energy potential, inhabiting a mechanical body that is stimulated electrically, reacts chemically but is controlled emotionally, and possesses intellectual capacity. Quite a mouthful but it confirms…
