Thirteen-year-old Bethany has always known her parents erred on the side of caution with Bethany’s longing for independence. Her questions regarding her past go unanswered by her parents and her mother’s constant crying and moodiness alarm Bethany. Before she can talk to her father about her concerns, he packs up the family and eventually leaves Bethany with an aunt she never knew she had.
